It’s about the quality of content, not the location or delivery. The glamor of the location matters far less than the message being delivered, and the work should speak for itself without the sparkle of a shiny backdrop. I’ve worked in fancy offices, and I can tell you the talent that filled the seats mattered far more than the seats themselves. And no matter how much we spent on that fancy office, investors didn’t want to drive across town and deal with traffic and parking to come sit there to see us. They just wanted a phone call.
Jensen Huang, the CEO of the biggest company in the world, has no formal office. He prefers to meet people wherever they’re comfortable. He’ll pull up a chair in any old space and get right to discussing what matters, or he’ll just call you from his car.
